SØDT is pronounced soot and is Danish for sweet.
SØDT makes traditional artisan breads and pastries alongside a range of original rye based recipes, developed and made exclusively by SØDT. We use natural ingredients and slow fermentation for extra depth of flavour. All our ingredients are sourced as locally as possible and we favour small producers.
We are passionate about real bread and delicious food.

SØDT founder, Troels Bendix, is from Denmark where hygge (pronounced hoo-guh) is part of the national psyche. There is no direct English translation for hygge, the word derives from a sixteenth-century Norwegian word, hugga, meaning to ‘comfort’ or ‘console’ which is also where the English word ‘hug’ comes from. Hygge is a feeling of contentment and well-being found through simple things like friendship, laughter, food, warmth and light.
